@immi
where did you get the Co20. I didn´t find any store for that. I see a Conrad co20 which is not available anymore, the same from velux, which is temporarily not available. For my unterstanding you ordered a chip on ist own?

I bought the CO20 as a usb-stick: I do not remember for sure where; it was 2 years ago; maybe voelkner.de

I remember I ordered it because it was very cheap and was supported by FHEM.
I didn´t have an use in mind at the time.

if they are out-of stock, search for something mainstream, cheap and well documented.... you will for sure find someone inside FHEM who writes a module for it

Fussboden:

In winter my ventilator is "on" at "1" from 11:30 to 21, from 1 to 1:45 and from 8 to 8:30.
Rest of the day it is "0".
-->this is programmed in the tecalor.
For the extraventilation, I had a very complicated script, which since 1 week I changed to a very easy. I can tell you the side-effects in 4 weeks.
My Refresh interval of the sensor CO20 is 300s.
define extraVent notify co20 IF ([co20:voc] > 2000) (set Mythz p99startUnschedVent 2)
No idea how it reacts in an airflow, but it makes sense.
I have it hidden behind a NAS in the Studio. Hidden because if someone with too much Perfume is too next to the sensor, it saturates for some minutes.

Sounds pretty easy, thanks.

I'll need a few things more, e.g.

  • stop ventilation as soon as it's hot outside AND nobody is at home (question is how to identify if somebody is at home)
  • do not intterrupt ventilation during night if passive cooling is activated
  • ...
I might need to do this via fhem, though I don't like to break the reliability of a THZ-only based logic  :-\ .
Possibly I can make use of the unused oven input to stop ventilation in certain situations.

Hey Willy i really tried some things bevor, but nothing works so fine for me as the Presence via Lan-bluetooth. We are using Bluetooth 4.0 on our cell-phones und usb-bluetooth-dongles on the beagleboneblack which is actually my testing enviroment - and on the cubietruck which has our fhem behavior in working condition on it.
The battery power of the cells phones is no problem since the modern phones have 4.0 BT and with the two devices we are covering more than 100m2 on one etage.
A watchdog with a 5minutes delay makes sure that the cell-phone is really gone bevor the event comes up.
We are also using the Residents Module to give the prensece state to a person.

All together works very fine here.

In sommer I will reverse it (already done last year)
During the night vent with passive cooling.
During the hot hours of the day no-vent and extraVent if the air quality is bad.

I simplified the code to the minimum, exactly because I do not want to relay to fhem.
FHEM gives me just the extravent, when  air quality is bad.

I am using the presence module (with ping to a mobilephone) since a year, to monitor when my wife  is at home and to play her tricks,
like all lights off or shutter down....

those Sticks will be available soon at Velux, but one Thing is not really ok for me.
Per datasheet it says that the messurement is relative not absolute, for this you should give the stick a reference every week outside. That means you took out the stick, go out, wait x min, go in, put it back. I don´t know if this solution is very good. Anyway the other chip cost more than 100€.
Anyway i will order two of them.

Hi Thomas
"Relative" and  "Absolute" does not give a feeling .
The co20 is not calibrated both as offset and as scala.
It goes in saturation....
But it is tecnically very simple. You have to do nothing.
Compare it to your nose. It is relative, it is not calibrated but works very well.

>>for this you should give the stick a reference every week outside
never needed

100€ is to much money for such a sensor. For the money I would take a netatmo, which is supported by fhem.

but the CO2 sensor from Velux is integrated in FHEM and it is cheap... If you look in thread about it you will find out that the most people are lucky with the sensor...

ZitatWould it be a good idea to mount the CO-20 sensor directly into the exhaust ventilation hose close to the THZ? This would be a few minute job in my case, since the fhem server is very close to it.

Klingt gut.

Belu
you are right, and confirming what I wrote  17 März 2015, 17:23:17
The CO20 is a air quality nose. It detects several gases but I doubt that it can detect both CO and CO2 .

>>The CO20 is not a dual  dual smoke/CO detectors detector!! You should buy a separated smoke detector
DO not use it for detecting dangerous gas levels!

Use it only  in parallel to a certified smoke detector allarm, to get a better comfort or to save some energy (not much).
