I am in the early days of building up a FHEM system - I now have control of radiators using Max! radiator stats and Boiler/Water control using a Homematic 4ch actor. I now wish to control an electric radiator to provide background heating in the garage. I have set up a CUNX with a spare Max wall stat as a test but plan to use a Homematic weather station at some point so would like a homematic solution with a simple thermostat for a 500w electric heater. Do I need separate thermostat and actor and is control already part of FHEM as I do not have programming expertise?

Thanks for help

Easiest to control is probably a wireless socket adapter, one that can be switched with what you have now, this sort of thing http://www.uk-automation.co.uk/device-control/appliance-control/.
If you can switch one of these from one of the devices you already have then you can switch from fhem, manually or controlled by weatherstation or other stat. Many electric rads have intenal stats so you may be happy to rely on that or use a separate device that will talk with what you have. You can always add a suitable stat later

You don't really need much in the way of programming experience, there are so many examples here and in the wiki http://www.fhemwiki.de/wiki/ as well as on the web. Much can be done by simply changing device names
