DLCD for OLED display

I Have recently commissioned SSD1306 display from an ESP8266 running EasyESP. After a bit of fiddling I got it working but for me there seems to be a bug in the DLCD driver as it:

1. The information for dlcdline 1 is sent to line 0 which does not exist and seems to overwrite the last dlcd line - the first readable line on the display is line 1 which displays dlcdline 2 info
2.FHEM Doesn't show any of the readings information (reports attr dlcdVal3 unreadable?) - although the OLED display shows the correct reading.

Can anyone assist me?
