Titel: Switching CUL SlowRF frequency from 868 to 433 with the same CUL
Beitrag von: longm am 20 Januar 2016, 10:55:05
Hi all.

Has anyone successfully used a single CUL to control both 868Mhz devices such as FHT and 433Mhz, such as HomeEasy using the same CUL device and switching the frequency through FHEM or am I looking at separate CUL devices an 868Mhz and a 433Mhz tuned devices?

thanks

Mark

It is mentioned briefly in the wiki http://www.fhemwiki.de/wiki/CUL (http://www.fhemwiki.de/wiki/CUL) under Sendefrequenz but I think it is generally accepted as not a good idea
No idea where to look for further information on that, sorry.

There are two issues why we discourage one CUL for different frequencies:
- the antenna itself and the link between the antenna and the CC1101 (which is more than just wire) is optimized for the advertized frequency, resulting in a very short range while the CC1101 is switched to the wrong frequency.
- while switched to the wrong frequency you wont receive data on the original one. Supporting such setups is a nightmare..
