Googling my way (looking for info on the EMR7370), I stumbled upon
Plugwise [1], which seems to be a energy measurement plug, combined
with a on/off switch and wireless Zigbee-transmission, at ~ €37/plug
(until 2010-01-10 a 15% discount may apply [2]):
The smart plug measures the energy consumption of the connected
appliance and stores the data in its own memory. Additionally it
can switch the appliance on and off. Energy-consumption data are
transmitted to the Plugwise software, installed on your PC via a
wireless Zigbee-MESH-network.
There seems to be some code to access this stuff from Linux [3], from what
can be seen without owning a plug, it's (currently?) only measuring consump-
tion in watts.
Is anyone already using Plugwise equipment? Any experiences with this Zig-
bee-Mesh performing in a normal, multi-floor house?
