Getting Started with FHEM

Season Greetings.

I have just sent an email to Ulrich to ask if his comprehensive FHEM Getting Started guide at http://fhem.de/Heimautomatisierung-mit-fhem.pdf is available in English or a form other than PDF that might make it easier for me to translate?

It looks a very comprehensive guide. I have seen lots of WiKi details etc that are available in English but I wanted to try the Getting Started Guide first. Specifically I am initially looking for details on setting up the server, probably on a Raspberry Pi to begin with.

What online resources did other English speaking users adopt when they first began using FHEM?

Uli's guide is wonderful and is what I used starting out a few years back - but, as a typical Englishman, I have no language skills at all.
At that time I translated the then current version using google translate, a long job, and not very accurate, but it was enough for me.
I still have copy of that somewhere here if you are interested.

There may be a later EN version available, there has been discussion previously but not sure anything ensued.

Hi all,
good to hear that the document is considered helpful.
By mail with Paul I suggested to create an english version on fhemwiki.de, so everybody can contribute.

Maybe fruit's existing version can be used as a starting point, and then several people (ideally native speakers) could enhance that google-translate-result on the fly.

I'll be happy to provide the original screenshot files once I'm back from vacation.

Sorry for not providing an english version myself, but I'm focussing on an enhanced German version currently, and I will not have the time to maintain two versions in the long run.

I'd be glad to see this starting as wiki-page.
