Jetzt müsst eigentlich auch von dort support geleistet werden ;)

... meine Vermutung ist, dass das Ziel zum Zeitpunkt des Backups nicht gemountet ist oder Berechtigungen darauf fehlen und deshalb der eigentliche Backupprozess fehlschlägt.

Frage: Funktioniert denn das Backup überhaupt noch?

Das ist bestimmt dann ein dd Backup .... über den Sinne eines dd Backups im Laufenden System haben wir hier im Forum schon mehrfach gesprochen ... Ich bin kein Freund davon.

Wobei es glaube ich (wenn es das Script ist was ich mir auch schon mal angesehen hatte) auch die Option tar oder rsync gibt...

Allerdings bleibe ich bei:

Habe ich "eingerichtet", verstehe ich (daher) zu 100% inkl. Restore (ist ja fast wichtiger als Backup: was bringt ein Backup ohne dass der Restore funktioniert ;) )...
...und habe ich bei jedem OS-Wechsel "erprobt" und v.a. auch das geht damit!

Mittels des Scripts ist man immer auf derselben OS-Version (außer man "zieht" händisch um: und dann? Oder man macht immer wieder ein Upgrade und zieht immer weitere "alte Schlümpfe" mit :D  )...

Sorry für dann doch etwas mehr OT (als ich vorhatte 8)  )...

klingt logisch, auch wenn ich es nicht ganz verstehe. dd-backup ist nicht wirklich gut, bzw eine Glaubensfrage.

Könnt Ihr mir als Laie einen Seite vorschlagen, wo ich ein Raspberry backup finde? fhem mach sein eigenes sowieso mittels at. Aber wenn etwas ist, will ich ja auch den ganzen Raspberry restoren können.

Mache ich ja auch, halt "mehrstufig" und dauert nicht wirklich länger als ein dd einspielen...
Weil ein Basis-Image kleiner ist und schneller geht, gut dann noch etwas Pakete installieren (bei mir max. 10 Stck. -> Notizen), fhem installieren, andere Vorarbeiten (Notizen), Backup einspielen fertig...

EDIT: dauert max. 1h (eher weniger)...

Und v.a. es ist mir so egal, ob ich die HW wechsle (inkl. Prozessor-Architektur) oder ein anderes/neues OS drunter ziehe...
...und durch diverse OS-Umzüge/Upgrades auch immer wieder geübt :)

dd ist gut, wenn das System nicht läuft (Offline-Backup). Im Laufenden System das gleiche zu sichern, kann funktionieren, muß aber nicht. Und wie es ist mit Murphy ....

Es gibt nicht "die" Backup/Restore-Lösung für Linux. Wie Joachim schrieb: Doku ist am Wichtigsten.

Viele andere Fahren deshalb Ihre Systeme als VM, da man dort komplette VMs Wesichern kann.
Ich fahre lieber Docker, da ist die docker-compose und/oder docker-file meine Dokumentation ;o)
(Und beruflich setze ich einen Docker Server innerhalb von 1h auf ...)

In der letzten Firma habe ich Linux-Backupsysteme betreut, da wurde auch nur:
- Installation Dokumentiert
- /etc weggesichert
- Geänderte Daten (Datenbanken etc.)
- Schnell wieder herzustellende Software (z.B. /opt/fhem (Wie komme ich bloß drauf??) )
Ein Restore war damit schneller, als ein Bear-Metal-Restore aus dem Backupsystem ....

  • Aufsetzen eines funktionsfähigen FHEM "from scratch" inklusive Installation eines Linux-Betriebssystems dauert bei mir im Regelfall weniger als 20 Minuten.
  • Das tägliche nächtliche Sichern der dafür notwendigen Dateien inklusive FHEM-Konfiguration und FHEM-Logfiles dauert weniger als 2 Minuten.

Die ganzen Kopfstände, die sich manche Anwender da immer wieder antun, werde ich in diesem Leben wohl nie mehr begreifen.
