Hi all,

first of all - sorry for asking in English rather than in German.
I am currently using the FHEM software with an FHZ1000 device.
Logging to
that I have 3 FHT 80b devices in different rooms.  So far this works
excellently and I cannot complain.

Now the question.  I want to add a device to the system to log the
outside
temperature so I can see how hard the heating in working relative to
the
outside temperature.  At first glance I would guess the FS20 UTS
(Universal
Thermostat Sender) is the right device for this but I am not sure.
Can the
FS20 UTS broadcast the temperature to the FHZ100 and be picked up by
FHEM
and logged like the temperature from the FHT 80b's?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi user7743,

if you just want to get current temperature/humidity, you could also use the S300TH, wich is less than half the price

<http://www.elv.de/Funk-Temperatur-Luftfeuchteaußensensor-S-300-TH-fuuml;r-z-B-ELV-WS-200300,-ELV-WS-300-PC,-USB-WDE1-und-IPWE-1/x.aspx/cid_74/detail_10/detail2_20690/flv_/bereich_/marke_>

(Link to a german site)

I use a couple of those (and bought them 5.- Euros each).

The S300TH does basically the same as the HMS100TF^, bust costs like
half the price? Is there any difference?

Thanks.

Yes - the price :-)
And the HMS sensor is outside the housing.

Otherwise for measuring temperature/humidity - no.

Thanks for the quick replies.  Andy, you are correct - all I want to
do is to log the temperature outside and display that in FHEM as a
graph that can be used to see that when it was 10 degrees outside,
inside was 20 degrees and the actuator was open 50% for example.

To clarify - would the S300TH talk to FHEM via my FHZ1000 directly or
do I need something else in the middle?  I ask for clarification
because on fhem.de under hardware it states "S300 devices via an
attached WS300".  I currently have no WS300.

Yes, the S300TH cannot be received by the FHZ1x00 family, and you cannot use
more than 8 of them (well, without hacking).

Thanks everyone.
Based on the fact that the S300TH cannot talk to my FHZ1000 and the
fact that the HMS100T has a the external temperature probe - I have
ordered a HMS100T.

Hi Rudolf,

is there a link to, or any description of a "S300TH adress enhancement
hack" ?
Or was it "just a thought"?
My neighbour uses 4 of these sensors and i use already 3 of them.
So I´m very interested... ;o)

Thanks in advance

Frank

You have to search this group, although the discussion was in german.

One method is to re-solder the s300th to 433 MHz, and use a CUL-433, the other
one is to identify it via ID+RSSI-Range in the fhem module. Don't ask me any
details for the latter, I don't want headaches again.
