Hi all

I use a rfxtrx433 device on my FB7390. Checking for sensors I found on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=pir+433&_sacat=0&_odkw=pr+433&_osacat=0

There price is very good. From their quality I have no idea. I checked, but
it seems the sellers have no idea which protocol is used so I have no idea
whether the rfxcom device and/or fhem will recognize this cheap sensors.
Has anybody any experience with it?

Hello,

I also had the idea to use on of these cheap motion sensors.

The only qualified answer I got was:
>The chipset we used are either 2262 or 1527

As far as I have googled these chinese chipsets use a propriatary RF
protocol that RFXtrx433 will probably not understand. But I did not
try to buy one of these sensors.

You could also ask RFXCOM for this. Maybe the are willing to implement
this protocol for their RFXtrx433 firmware. If they do I will support
you to add this to my FHEM drivers.

I personally use X10 MS10 and two MS14a motion sensors that I have
bought in the US (via EBAY).
As they use 310 Mhz which is not allowed to be used in the EU, I have
modified them to 433 Mhz using the following instructions:
  http://www.domotica.famschenk.eu/MS10A-433.html
  http://www.domotica.famschenk.eu/MS14A_OP_433.92.html
Unfortunately the prices for X10 devices has increased a lot in the
US.

Regards

Willi

Hi Willi

I was already in contact with RFXCOM. The problem is indeed the lack
of a standard. But most likely they all come from 1 factory. So it
must be possible to hack them and this could be a nice business
prospect for RFXCom as this is a good selling point. Anyway I got no
response on my second mail yet. (it was send after office time.)

BTW I will forward this and your message. So they know it will be used
in software as soon as it will become available in RFXTRX433.

Hi

RFXcom won't support it as they have other priorities and the memory in the
receiver maybe a problem in the future.
It seems ARC is also using PT2262 but I guess it will be impossible to let
the sensors work according to one of the existing protocols. So these cheap
sensors can't be used. :-(
