I would like to know if someone tried to implement xPL in FHEM in order to
be able to interface with more products which have this kind of interface,
or to access remote systems which use the protocol ?

Do you mean xPL-perl or xPL? FHEM is written in perl.

Which devices that xPL or xPL-perl supports would you like to have in FHEM?

xPL-perl from is very nice work, but in my opinion does it not fit well
into FHEMs structure. xPL-perl needs lots of files and dependencies to
work. FHEM is designed to be smaller and with a very different
architecture.

You could of course write your own FHEM module that uses xPL or xPL-perl.

I assume that if there is a device missing in FHEM it will be easier to
implement this than to integrate xPL or xPL-perl into FHEM.

But this is just my opinion. You can give it a try if you want to.

Willi
